  1. Windows update auto-restart corrupted my database

This isn't really a question, more of a rant.

Today I was working on an Access 2019 database and had several forms, queries, etc. open. Windows update wanted to restart but I told it to wait.

I went away from the computer for a few hours and discovered it had restarted. Now when I open the database is crashes, just goes away, poof.

I've compacted, decompiled, and recompiled. Nothing works.

Tomorrow I'll create a new database and import everything into it from the old one. If I'm lucky, it will work. Otherwise I'm out 2 days of work.

I realize many people never updated their computers on Windows 7, and Microsoft thought this would be a good idea to force updates on people. But if I say I want an update delayed, I should have that ability. This is my computer and my work that Microsoft is trashing.

    :)

Pending Download - corrupted WU database

This have been working for a while, but now there's another pending update KB4346783 in stalled state. Running troubleshooter only discovers problems in windows update that is partially fixed but not the corrupt database.

I have followed all steps here and the database corruption is still not gone.

Now I can download the package manually from Windows Catalog, but the Windows Update service is unusable.
