Windows 10: Windows Update, bonus hours

Ran out of data only 5 days into the monthly allotment.

I would like Windows to only download updates from 2am to 8am, my bonus hours.

I have found the way to get access to group policy on my Windows 10 Home machine and have selected to have Windows to notify me when updates are available to download. I am waiting to see how, if, that setting works.

My question is, is there a statement/command I can use in task scheduler to initiate Windows to check and download updates?

This may be a mute point, as task scheduler is failing to accept any inputs....so i guess i could use some help with that also. I get the message "Task Scheduler service is not available. Task Scheduler will attempt to reconnect to it."


Or is there a much simpler way to accomplish this?

Bonus Utente Premium???

I am a premium subscriber, and I am curious why every time I complete a puzzle, on the "Reward" line it says "Bonus utente premium" then lists the bonus amount. Why is it mixing English and Spanish? It used to just say Premium Bonus Earned.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Windows Update settings, how can I configure Windows 10 to update during this bonus time?

I am on a satellite network with a limited data package between the hours of 8:00 am and 2:00 am. The remainder of the hours 2:00 am to 8:00 am are classified as bonus time with no restrictions. How can I configure Windows 10 to update during
this bonus time?
