    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand your concern and will assist you to resolve this issue

I would suggest you to try the following methods and check if the issue persists.

Method 1: Windows has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with system. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your System
    Maintenance.

    Refer these steps:

    • Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
    • Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
    • Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
    • Run the System Maintenance troubleshooter.
Method 2: I suggest you to disable third party security software (if any installed) and check if it is cause to the issue.

    Disable Antivirus Disclaimer:

Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should
re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Hope this helps. If the issue remains unresolved, please get back to us and we would be happy to help

    Windows Update Boot Speed

After any larger update requiring restart it takes some time for everything be set in right places, the right way. Best to leave computer on and on idle an hour or two, depending on it's and HDD speeds. I think that they are letting maintenance do it's thing so updates go faster.

If you have HDD, this can be due to the Prefetcher being defragmenting and reordering files needed during the boot. The prefetcher need 6 restarts to complete this operation, so that the boot time can be optimized by predicting and caching necessary files for the boot process.

Just to add that even 24 hours after installing updates and several reboots later I still see files being modified in the background. It can go on for days.

    Example from just now:
