Windows Update broke my sound. Then fixed it. Then broke it again - all within 24 hours. What is going on? Initially the Bluetooth headphones worked so I used this instead when the TV sound failed, but now nothing works. HOW CAN THIS BE FIXED PLEASE?

Also with the same device? You need to look for updates from the manufacturer.

That's how Windows works with updates as you know.

Have you discovered- as suggested- which of those two is responsible?

You can hide (block) particular Windows Updates - tutorial available in the searchable Tutorial section.

You can also do that with a 3rd party tool - tends to be easier.
Pausing Windows Updates (tutorial available) gives you the time to set up the block (e.g. scan for updates with 3rd party tool, select what you wish to block and do that).







I assume you both have Home - with Pro, it's easy to set updates to 'Notify' meaning no update automatically installs- only with your permission.

Method 1: Try updating the Video card drivers and check if it helps.



Follow the steps to update the Video card driver:

• Press Windows Key + X key and click Device Manager.
• Expand ‘Display Adapters’.
• Right-click on the Video card listed and click on ‘Update Driver Software’.

Method 2: Try installing the game in Compatibility mode and check.



Follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode:

• Right click the Game setup file and select Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab.
• Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box.
• Tap or click the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click OK.
• Try installing the Game and check.

If still the issue persist then I suggest you to follow the suggestion provided by crazzilla replied on August 3, 2015 from the below link and check if it helps.
