Windows 10: Windows Update Cleanup doesn't get purged in temp files storage settings

Hello.After the 23H2 version Windows update Windows 11, I'm not able to delete the previous update files which were always safe to be removed by Windows.I would simply do that by going into Storage Settings of Windows. Then Temp Files and then Windows would list all the files that were safe to be removed and it always included "Windows Update Cleanup" which would take up to 7 GB of space of my Windows drive which is my C drive in this case.You can check out the attached image.The previous times I could simply get rid of that excessive 7.68 GB of space by simply clicking on "Remove files" but

I've tried so many tricks available on the Internet plus "Disk Cleanup" and surprisingly, "Windows Update Cleanup" is still there in disk cleanup as well and even by trying to delete it, it's not doing the job for me and I'm really stuck and need help for saving some space.

Is it a bug in new versions of Windows or do we need to take more actions to accomplish this task which used to be a simple task!

Temp file cleanup trouble

Follow these steps to remove excess Temp Files:

1. Press Windows key + i to open settings.

2.Select System > Storage and then scroll down the list and choose Temporary files.

3. delete temp files by clicking "Remove Files" just be careful on downloaded files.
