Windows 10: Windows Update Cleanup on Windows 11 will not delete. How to delete to open up more space?

After each Windows update and deleting temp files, my Windows update Cleanup does not clear and adds to total amount of space used. Am not a "pro" and using command system is beyond my learning curve. Simple, plain explanations is wanted. Have read many blogs, help sites, etc. but have not been able to solve problem. And, Microsoft has not been helpful in attempting to solve problem with numerous people requesting help from them.

C windows installer folder - Delete?

He can do symbolic link redirection and move the files in it to a different location. *Wink
Better try it out in a virtual of first. Just a suggestion.

Like:
First move everything in c:\windows\installer to d:\installercache
Then delete c:\windows\installer folder
Then type this in command mode as admin
mklink /d c:\windows\installer d:\installercache

Removing those installer files is a bad idea. it might prevent you from updating or uninstalling apps.

That worked for me....11 GB removed all in all. Wunder when it will be downloaded again.

There is a bright side for those worried about their disk space, though. Microsoft told The Reg that it is possible to remove the Windows 10 update files using the Disk Cleanup utility.
