Windows 10: Windows update - Computer's WiFi keeps turning off

I recently had done Windows update on 2 of my computers. Since the updates, the WiFI adapter on the devices kept disconnecting from the WiFi. It has only been happening to these two devices, everything else in the house works fine. I tried restarting the router, and the WiFi pod, When I tried to reconnect to the network, this popped up, making me enter the password each and every time. It only stay connected for about 10 minutes. I rolled my on my WiFi adapter card driver, changed the band selection, same thing. I went through the event log on the device, and this showed up. Wifi wont turn on after Windows 10 update

I have now attempted (multiple times) the above suggestion.



When I do the troubleshooter, it asks me to turn on the Wireless adapter via a switch on the side of the computer. My computer doesn't have a switch, it only has a touch-sensitive button or a menu option to turn on. When I go to settings and click
the button to turn on the wifi, it just flicks back to off.

Otherwise it tells me it's operating normally (if i skip the step of turning the wifi on).

Windows will not let me turn wifi on (see attached screen shots).



I went to the manufacturers site and downloaded the latest 64bit windows 10 drivers and installed them via the 'update device drivers' after uninstalling the current drivers as suggested and i still cannot turn the wifi on.

You wouldn't happen to have another suggestion? Please.

Windows 10 wifi not turning on Acer Aspire laptop

In order to get the list of available wireless networks, you have to:

1. Switch on Connect to suggested open hotspots (see the screenshot in question);
   
2. Click on Wifi icon in the right corner. Now you have your networks back.
   

After that the parameter from Step 1 can be turned off, networks will be listed normally after restarting Wifi.

P.S. I feel rather stupid at the moment. I thought that open hotspots are passwordless hotspots and so are presumably not very safe. So of course I've turned that off during installation.
Really hard to see any logic in this case.

• Have you made any changes to your computer prior to this issue?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• Have you tried updating your Windows 10 computer to its latest update?
• Have you tried to turn off the Get tips, tricks and suggestions as you use Windows
  in the Notification & Actions Settings of your Windows 10 and see if you will still encounter the same issue?
  

If you are not able to turn off that in the Notification & Actions Settings, you can follow the steps below:

• Press the Windows key.
• Type Notifications & Actions.
• Deselect the option Get tips, tricks, and suggestions as you use Windows.
• Restart your computer.
