    Windows Update Constantly freezes and prevents machine boot completing


    Means I have to restore and this caused me two weekends of lost work!!!!!!


    MICROSOFT NEED TO FIX THIS AND STOP CONSTANTLY UPGRADING BAD PIECE OF SOFTWARE THAT DISRUPTS USE OF COMPUTER !!!!!!!!

    Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.


    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

    Windows boots to the desktop then freezes

    Yeah...I went to google and got the F8...lol*Stick Out Tongue Windows Update Constantly freezes and prevents machine boot completing :p....thxxx

    It boots up in safe mode and seems to work fine. Now I just need to figure out what's causing windows to freeze up befor it fully loads in normal start up operation.

    Any suggestions where I might start ?
