  1. Windows Update Crashed - Unable to Roll Back - Cloned Disk to Backup Data

Sorry for the chopped up question, but it summarizes my situation. Basically here is how it went. This past Saturday I let my laptop update with the latest version available. Left for a while and came back to a green screen. Turned off and let it boot up, status circle spinning froze and green screen popped up. Had this happen a number of times. On a mission to not lose all of my work files, I went ahead and created a clone backup of my hard drive. Data is all there, but ended up doing a clean windows install to get rid of the crashing. Needless to say, all of my programs I use for work are gon

My suggestion is to clean the 1T drive and clone it again. To clean the drive, open a CMD window as administrator and type: diskpart list disk (it will list all drives. Identify the 1T drive number) select disk n (replace n by the 1T drive number obtained with list disk) clean convert GPT Exit

    Cloned disk unable to boot

Just some facts to make it clear: - The source disk is a Samsung 970 512MB Nvme installed in my Dell XPS 9570 laptop, it has Windows 10 installed and it works perfectly fine. sfc and dism tests show the file system has no corruption. - The target disk is a Samsung 980 1TB Nvme, it is healthy and always cleaned and set to GPT with diskpart before cloning. I tested fresh installing Windows 10 in this disk and the drive boots perfectly fine. - I'm using a Startech M2E1BRU31C enclosure to hold the target disk, connected via TB3 to my XPS9570. - I've tried Acronis, Macrium Reflect and Clonezilla to clone the 970 onto the 980, all cloning attempts rendered an unbootable target disk, but all file and partition contents show up in Disk Management - I've tried repairing the boot file both manually with cmd and steps outlined in this thread and in youtube videos, and automatically with a Windows Recovery Drive or 3rd party tools, all were unsuccessful - Yes, I can freshly install Windows and restore data from source drive and reinstall apps, but I'm trying to avoid this as it is time consuming, choosing to see if I can clone. - I tried backup/restore with Acronis instead of cloning, the results are the same, not able to boot - BIOS settings are all fine, Secure Boot disabled, UEFI+AHCI. Also, the source drive has no encryption, Bitlocker is off. - - - Updated - - -
Yes, I was trying other options suggested in the thread before submitting the logs

    Cloned disk unable to boot

Hi Megahertz, I followed your steps but there must be something wrong or missing, after trying to execute the command "format fs=fat32 quick label=EFI" the following message displays:"THERE IS NO VOLUME SELECTED, PLEASE SELECT A VOLUME AND TRY AGAIN" I'm attaching below screenshots of Disk Management as well as of LIST DISK, LIST PART and LIST VOL for your review:

Rolling back updates manually?: I've just had to reset my PC due to a number of issues I suspect were caused by the recent 2004 Update.
