Windows 10: Windows update didnt complete and has stuffed my Asus Laptop

My Asus laptop went into an Microsoft update last night and didnt complete. It then went into a Bios blue screen and wouldnt budge from there.

I contacted a friend who is a Computer engineer, and he spent most of the day today trying to download a Win 10 recovery file which failed on 6 attempts while trying to download onto a USB.... he tried a reputed third party (Not Microsoft) recovery file, and the laptop shut down and thay was yhat.

He seems to yhink the hard drive is either wrecked or lost everything.

Hes waiting to see when the battery has drained of it would fire up.

What comeback do I have from Microsoft?, its a two year old laptop, just out of warranty.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

I will try that... do you think I have complete access to replace the monitor cable without dismantling the laptop from step 1? *Eek!
Tbh it's a bit scary.

I'm not sure where the newer version came from as Asus doesn't list that version for your laptop....maybe Windows update did it and often windows update is wrong.
