Windows 10: Windows Update eating up space, Disk cleanup cannot find Windows Update Clean up after the...

Hello,1 I had about 4 GB of space on my C Drive. I have windows 10 Pro, 22H2. Within minutes, Windows update ate it all up down to about 500MB. I restarted after the updated. Went on that day to Disk Cleanup as administrator many times, but Windows Update Cleanup does not show up there even when I clean up clean system files. It also does not show up under Storage > Clean Temporary Files. I ran that many times, too. It's been 3 days after the update and still no change. I do not see a c:\Windows.old folder Yes, I have system files and hidden files enabled I have hibernation turned of

Disk bloat in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update

Is it my imagination, or does the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update consume an additional 20-30GB of disk space over the previous Creators Update release? Unfortunately, I didn't log my disk usage before the upgrade, but now my C: drive has 56GB of stuff, and I know it wasn't anywhere near that full before. I've run "Disk Cleanup -> Clean up system files" and selected everything on the list, including remove previous version of Windows. I also emptied my Recycle Bin, my Temp folder, \Windows\Temp folder, and \Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download folder. Finally, I ran Wise Disk Cleaner to delete assorted application garbage.

Has anyone else noticed the bloat in Fall Creators Update?

 

Disk space.

Could be the Windows Update Stores files, .old files, shadow copies, etc.

Try running Windows disk clean up with the "Clean up System Files" option.

Delete files using Disk Cleanup <-- Be sure to check out the section at the bottom "To clean up all files on the computer".

Disk cleanup don't cleans Windows Update Cleanup.

I have been running the disk cleanup for freeing up some space but there is a file named "Windows Update Cleanup" which won't clean up even if I have ticked it, When I press delete files it will not be deleted. It is consuming 1.7 GB of my hard disk space.
