Windows 10: Windows Update: Error 0x800700A1 - 0x20007

Dear Microsoft community,I have Windows 10 Pro version 1909; Windows update to a newer version has failed many times.The error I get is:the installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during INSTALL_DRIVERS operation0x800700A1 - 0x20007I have tried to:- run the update again- restart my computer- update drivers: I used DELL SupportAssist to find if any driver needed updates. I also opened the device manager but could not find a warning sign or anything indicating a driver needed and update.- use Media Creation Tool to upgrade to 20H2But I always get the error described above, what sh

Windows 10 2004 fails with 0x800700a1

I downloaded the MCT and selected as you suggested the Upgrade PC option.

It encountered the same error as before. I got more detail this time from the setup application upon reboot. The message was :

0x800700A1 - 0x20007 - The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during INSTALL_DRIVERS operation.

As you suggest - no suitable drivers for my device yet.

Perhaps I'll just have to delay for a month or so the update. Though I don't know how to stop the feature update and not other updates.

Hope you can advise.

EDIT---

It appears that the STMicroelectronics accelerometer is the driver that's causing the issue. I have this in my DELL laptop so I'm assuming that it's missing from the Windows 10 Update?

And the man uninstalled the device and ran the update again and was successful.

I might try that in a few days and let you all know if that did work for me as well.

 

Creator update failing

My creator's update is failing with the following error:-
0x800700A1 - 0x20007
The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during INSTALL_DRIVERS operation.
What should i do?

I have a lenovo yoga book and i am installing the update via a USB drive.
