Try to apply the update manually As suggested by Microsoft. I just wrote a
step by step guide.

However be sure that the update itself is downloaded and that the installation part is failing, and not the downloading part.

UPdate KB490901 did not install error 0x80070643

Windows 10 update KB490901 installed as an update 7/03/2018, but did not install showing error 0x80070643. Several attempts have produced the same result. Microsoft Help Desk were unable to fix or suggestions. Has anyone else experienced this ordeal? or
could the fault lie with my computer settings. Any answers to this Post will be most appreciated. The Bairn.
