Windows 10: Windows Update Error 0x80096004

I just want to ask is there a fix to this error? I tried everything even the windows troubleshooter won't detect the problem.

As a Windows Insider, update version 17046.1000 is shown as available, but every attempt to download gets the same error message: 0x80096004.

Have tried numerous fixes including MS update repair, registry repair, etc, etc.

Any suggestions which do NOT include using system restore, or a paid repair app?

Windows 10 update error 0x80096004

I still cannot run Windows Update! I still get error 0x80096004. I have tried everything you have suggested and nothing has helped so far. Do you have any further suggestions that do not destroy my data and applications?

I have to admit that I am getting very frustrated with this process.
