Windows 10: Windows Update Error 0x800f0900

After an in place upgrade, there is another problem with Windows Update. 2025-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems KB5058379 is stuck on Downloading 100%.Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8.1 for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64 KB5011048 failed with code 0x800f0900.

Cindy, I have tried the troubleshooting steps listed by David M. here as this person had a similar issue to me. Windows 11 Update (KB5012592) fails With Error Code 0x800f0900 - Microsoft Community I have tried all of them, I did find corrupted files and I ran windows update troubleshooter. All with no luck.

I recommend the steps below:

• Step 1
  
  Uninstall your antivirus
  

• Step 2
  
  Delete temporary files from previous installations
  
  Press Windows + R keys to open the Run Menu;
  
  In the Run Menu, type CleanMgr and click Ok;
  
  Click Clean System Files;
  
  Select a drive where the system is installed;
  
  Enable all options and click Ok;
  
  Wait for completion and proceed to step 3.
  

• Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupt system files
  
  Click Start and type CMD;
  
  In the list of search results, right-click Command Prompt and click Run as Administrator;
  
  Type the following command sfc /scannow and press Enter.
  
  Wait for the scan to finish and when it's done, go to step 4.
  

• Step 4
  
  Clean boot
  
  Press Windows+R keys to open the Run Menu;
  
  In the Run Menu type Msconfig and click Ok;
  
  On the General tab click Normal Startup;
  
  Click on the Services tab and select Enable All;
  
  Enable the Hide all Microsoft services option and click Disable all;
  
  Click Apply > Ok.
  

Restart the system.
