Windows 10: Windows update error 80080005

    Windows update error 80080005


    I noticed that Windows Update was broken early today and throwing error 8008005. I took to the web to see if anyone else was having this problem and was relieved to see there were many that did and all the threads had replies marked as working answers. I attempted all of them and none of them worked. By chance I stumbled across Windows 10 Update Assistant. I downloaded and ran it just as a last ditch effort and it worked! After a restart and a very long update process, Windows Update seems to be working as expected, its currently finding and installing multiple additional updates. I'm not sure what my original issues was, just hope this comes in handy to others that have exhausted all the other "fixes".
