Windows 10: Windows Update error and Windows Defender issue

I am constantly getting this error when I try to check for any windows updates:

I have tried multiple fixes from trying to reset windows update components, disabling my third-party antivirus, running SFC and DISM scans, running windows update troubleshooter, taking ownership of System Volume Information directory, and updating using the media creation tool when I open it it immediately tells me that I'm up to date, but I still have the same issue. This has been going on since 4/2/2020.


The other issue I came across while trying to solve this one is my Windows Defender not opening up.





The window just stays like this and won't load anything. I am not sure how to troubleshoot this issue.

Windows 10 Anniversary Update Issues

Problems with W10 Anniv auto update:

Mom's: (x58 Xeon 5677) Windows Defender was not turned back on automatically (it was "on" in the 1511 edition) and she had a Trojan. Full system scan to eradicate.
Her Epson printer was knocked off, had to uninstall by Device Manager pull USB cable and reconnect cable. W10 did the rest.

Step-mom's: (HP pre built) Windows Defender not turned back on by default. Her USB Seagate Expansion Drive 2Tb was offline so all backup routines were halted. Had to rerun backup plan. Had her do a full virus scan.

Step-dad's: (Dell Optiplex tweaked upgrades) Windows Defender not turned back on by default. Full Scan.

 

SEtting up automatic updates for windows defender on windows 8

I have found this on the internet en have set up a task for automatic definitions update for Windows Defender but a window pops up when this starts to run.
Is there a way to set this without any window popping up so that it just runs in the background?

Now I'm using
"C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MpCmdRun.exe" -SignatureUpdate -MMPC

Windows update issues

Just a real quick question for you guys. Have any of you been having issues with Windows Update at all? I havent gotten updates in about 2months because of the following:

Error code 8024402f. I get the following from Help and support:

Its like this even with a fresh install of different OS's.

Not sure how to fix it.
