Windows 10: Windows Update Error Code 0x80080005 in Windows 10 home single language version 2004

Whenever I run windows update, I receive the following:


"There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help 0x80080005"


I have run the Windows troubleshooter for the update feature, but it has not resolved the windows update issue.

Also, my device is heating very much and the battery is also draining very fast.

I'm using Windows 10 home single language version 2004


How have others resolved this issue?

suggests the error number may occur where one of the OTHER drives has a problem.

Your specs don't say whether you have other drives installed.

Anyway, worth using Hard Disk Sentinel (trial) - the best text summary of such programs I've seen- to check your disks. Failing that check SMART params and do a surface scan with something else.

Windows Update returns 0x80080005

Hello,

I recently realized my Windows 10 had not been upgraded since February 8th this year (2020).

Current Windows installation: Windows 10 Home | Version 1903 | OS-version 18362.592

After "searching" for updates, Windows returns error code 0x80080005. I have tried the commonly suggested solutions but to no avail.

I have tried the following

• Running the DISM tool followed by sfc /scannow (as
  described here)
• Resetting Software distribution folder (as
  described here)

None of these methods have fixed the problem.
