Windows 10: Windows Update Error code "0x800f084f"

Hello,My name is Luke and I would appreciate if anyone could help identify the problem and a successful solution to the Windows Update Error Code 0x800f084f. I have tried downloading and installing a number of updates on my laptop the last couple of months and while some have been successful a number seem to download and install up to 100% but then stop and crash displaying this error code, without actually having downloaded and installed the updates. The most problematic updates I have noticed are:1. Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64

You say the error code is too broad!!!!!! 10 characters long!! 100 trillion trillion possible codes.

MS really should do better. I can find no source for these error codes.

Somewhere in Windows Update there is a piece of code that says: If
whatever1 then issue issue error code 0x800f084f, else whatever2.

What is whatever1??????

OK, I have started looking through your logs. I see some things different from mine but it appears the regeneration of the Software Distribution log may still be going on.

Would you check and see if you have KB4521863 installed? It is a Servicing Stack and will only show on the Uninstall Updates page. If you do not show it, you might try a manual download and install from there.

Do you have the KB4522738 installed which is a .Net update? On my system it was installed on 9/26.

This is for anyone who might have some insight. I will mention the Rollup part does also show in errors in
Upgrade logs. It may be tied to the above .Net situation.

I will continue to check your logs and will see if I can determine why my log shows the operation below and your log does not. Basically, your install process lasts about one line in the log and quits.
