Windows 10: Windows Update Error Occured 0x80070643 Update KB5028997

I followed the steps, exactly, to resize the recovery partition. One of the steps was deleting the previous partition. When I did that I think my winre.wim file was removed. Now the reagentc /enble does not find the partition. Likewise, the update fails.I did follow the process exactly. What are my next steps?

First things first, can you still access the system normally?

Check if your firewall is currently turned on properly. Please follow the steps below to restart and repair the Windows Update components, then try updating again to see if the error persists.

1. Start the Start menu, type "cmd", right-click to run as administrator, then execute the following commands in order:

SC config wuauserv start= auto

SC config bits start= auto

SC config cryptsvc start= auto

SC config trustedinstaller start= auto

SC config wuauserv type=share

net stop wuauserv

net stop cryptSvc

net stop bits

net stop msiserver

ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

net start wuauserv

net start cryptSvc

net start bits

net start msiserver

(Note: Press Enter after each line of code)

Restart your device, try updating Windows again to see if the error persists.

If the error still occurs, you can try clicking on Settings, then Windows Update, and run the Windows Update Troubleshooter to see if it detects any issues.

If no issues are detected, you can click on Windows Update, uninstall update KB5028997, and then check if the error still occurs.

Thank you for your response,

I did all the steps you said from the cmd to the troubleshooting yet nothing has worked and there is no update KB5028997 in the uninstall menu for me to uninstall so I cannot do so. What are the other methods of fixing this.

It is due to an update released this week.
