Windows 10: Windows update fails immediately with error code 80072EFE

I'm getting error 80072EFE immediately after running windows update. This is happening on Windows Server 2012 R2. Started when attempting to run windows updates for the July's 2022 updates. I've tried the fixes from the articles I found online for example: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/windows-update-error-80072efe/b9bec41f-6d8c-4476-b32f-4848bca07324Nothing has fixed it. I got access to the internet outside I can ping resources inside and outside the network. I'm at a dead end. Can anyone assist me on this one?
