Windows 10: Windows Update fails with error code 0xc1900204

Windows 10 Update hasn't run successfully for some time and when I start it manually it downloads but during the installation a failure seems to occur and this is the resulting message: "There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: 0xc1900204"I have followed the typical recommendations, including:- Running it again- Making sure I have no issues in Device Manager- All 3rd party drivers are up to date- Have tested unplugging all peripherals except keyboard and mouse-

I've used the link you've given and I still get the error code 0xc1900204. I'm on Windows 8.1. I've been told to remove mcafee to do the upgrade and then try again. I've tried 3 times and get this error code everytime.

It's pretty frustrating. Please help!

TIA. I am trying to upgrade to windows 11 and the install fails reporting an error code 0xc1900204. I am currently on win 10 Pro. Dell Inspiron 15 5570 and help would be appreciated.
