Windows 10: Windows Update Failure 0x800f0922 Error STATUS_CANNOT_DELETE originated in function...

Dear all,


struggling for months now with Windows update errors.


Followed all different instructions for the usual update errors, sfc, dism, reset download store etc.


Now I tried with all services except Microsoft disabled as recommended by a colleague.


This time I have a new error code: 0x800f0922


I searched the CBS.log for this error message and found a bunch of similar looking errors just before that rollback message:

Any idea what could be wron in this case and how to fix it?

Windows refuses to update - Error 0x800f0922


Windows won't update, i ran sfc as an Admin in CMD and no issues.

• Adobe is activated on Edge but still doesn't work, could this be related?

System Details
Windows 10 Home 64bit
Build Version: 10586.420

 

Installation Failure: ... error 0x800F0922: Cumulative Update ... (KB3200970).

From the Event Viewer:

Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x800F0922: Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3200970).

Does anyone have any idea how to solve this?

 

Windows Update Failure 0x800f0922 and Stuck at Download-Install-Fail-Backout-Repeat Cascade

Windows 10 (Hewlett Packard laptop) computer is at the 1803 build and will not install KB4343909 and keeps giving error 0x800f0922. Then backs out the update.
Then retries the update. Then fails. Then backs out. Then repeats every day... Every install/backout cycle takes over an hour! This is totally ridiculous. I used the Troubleshooting wizard/app for Windows Updates. It indicated it found problems and fixed the
problems. However this is not true. The 0x800f0922 problem persists. Furthermore, in the 1709 build there was a "Pause Updates" button to allow me to suspend this ridiculous
behavior. But in the 1803 build the pause option is gone. So not only has Microsoft broken my computer, Microsoft has removed the only means for me to control the failure behavior and be productive!

Three questions:

1. How do I fix the 0x800f0922 failure?
2. How do I pause or suspend installation of KB4343909?
3. Microsoft: what is wrong with your quality testing?
