  1. Windows Update Folder No Longer Present In the Group Policy Editor

After a forced update and reboot I can no longer find the Windows Update folder to try to stop this intrusive behavior via the Group Policy Editor when going to the following path:

Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components

I checked all of the other folders to make sure it didn't somehow get moved into one of them but it doesn't seem to be visible anywhere in the Editor. Is there a way to check if the folder is Hidden or another workaround to bring it back? I'm at my wits' end on trying to stop Windows 10's awful automatic update policy.

    Hi Tony,

Group Policy Editor in Windows is a tool to help you manage policy settings. Here's how you can access the Local Group Policy Editor:

    • Press Win+R to open Run.
    • Type gpedit.msc, and then click OK.

Let us know how else we can help.

    GROUP POLICIES IN WINDOWS 10

You can change Group Policies by opening Group Policy Editor first. You can open it by following these steps:

    • Log in an administrator account. If you are already logged in as an administrator, proceed to step 2.
    • Press Windows + R to open Run.
    • Type gpedit.msc and press Enter.

After opening Group Policy Editor, you can now make the necessary changes that you want.

Should you have more concerns, feel free to post.

    Regards.
