    Windows Update glitched action center

I was required to update my PC last night, and when I restarted afterward everything appeared to be fine. I shut it down as normal afterward, and when I booted it up this morning everything still seemed fine until my Discord contacts began to wake up. I received messages from them, but the sound and number appearing in the taskbar icon for Discord itself were the only alert that that had occurred. No notification appeared in the action center for this. Thinking it was just a Discord problem, I relaunched the program after fiddling with its native notification settings and the issue persisted. I further tested where the source of the issue was by plugging in my external hard drive and then having it safely removed. No notification appeared for this either, even when alternate signs indicated that it was indeed safe to remove the drive, leading me to pinpoint that the problem is with Windows itself. I suspect last night's update may have glitched the action center somehow, as do most sources I found when searching for possible causes. If there can be a patch made to fix this and other people's more serious issues with said update, that would be much appreciated.

My PC is thankfully a newer model in terms of prebuilt hardware that came with either late January or early February's latest Windows 10 version baked in, which I gather is why I don't seem to be experiencing the more severe issues that other users are experiencing ie. work-ruining filetype changes, Chrome being broken or entirely removed, printing issues [to my knowledge at least], etc. This is mainly just an annoyance for me as I use the desktop app version of Discord and having just the sound and number appear in the program's taskbar icon is confusing due to some videos I like to watch sometimes including a Discord sound in the background to either confuse the viewer or further a narrative, either way would lead me to believe I had a message if not for the action center notification appearing. That and when I back up my files on an external hard drive at the end of the day, I use the notification of the drive being safe to remove as the main indicator that I can safely remove my device. I can infer by the "remove hardware" icon being moved to the inactive section and the drive's folders being removed from the file explorer's sidebar the "alternate signs" mentioned in the above paragraph that it is indeed safely removed, but I am not as confident in this method as I'm a bit paranoid about my interaction with computers in general.

    :)

Disable Action Center in Windows 7?

Unfortunately that doesn't disable Action Center, all it does it cause Acution Center to bitch about the Security Center service not running.

Action Center seems to be a different beast from Security Center...

And telling it to not display any messages gets it out of the way, the same way disabling the icon in the suggestions above does, but Action Center is still enabled and running.
