Windows 10: Windows update has broken my internet connection and I can't work out how to get it back.

Please help asap! I have an important deadline today.Windows ran an update last night and it broke my internet connection and I can't get it back!!!I'm close to tears because I have to work. Please, please help asap!

Internet Connection Broken/Unstable

The internet keeps dropping every now and then, becomes unresponsive and then starts working again.
Long download speeds are broken and not continuous. Is it Windows 10?



I've added a screenshot of the internet graph, it shouldn't be that way should it?

If your wireless router has a built in firewall maybe it's somehow set to block the ports that Windows updates use?

I'd also suggest if it works with it being directly connected then you could try resetting your router to see if this fixes the issue.

Try the following steps:

  Click "Search" and type "Troubleshooting" without quotes and hit enter.
