Windows 10: Windows Update has failed and goes into a restart loop.

Our Windows 11 machine i7 Processor automatically started doing an update. It gets to 3% and then re-starts. It cycles this indefinitely. More Detail: I get the "American Megatrends" Starter screen, then the Blue Windows Logo in the middle of the screen, then the circle of dots, then "Updating your system 3%", then a split second notice saying "Working on Updates 17% Do not turn off your computer" then it re-starts. Can anyone suggest a solution?James

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

 

Windows Updates failed to instal

I just did step one and they have just all installed.... thank you so much.... it was quite frustrating having that update window pop up every 5 minutes and failing to instal every time
