Windows 10: Windows Update has problems with Defender that can't Update itself

I've had this problem with Defender Updates for more than a year. My guess is that for more than a year ago, Defender changed some Installation-Path somewhere in the Registry, and that's why it can't update itself, and I can't find out what path that is... But Defender DO Update if I run the Definition File manually, see further down. The msgs from the Win System Log are: Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x8024200B: Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus antimalware platform - KB4052623 Version 4.18.2111.5. EventData errorCode 0x8024200

Why won't Windows Defender not auto update anymore

I have have windows updates set to notify updates , I will install myself, because I want to make a system restore point before installing updates.

Because of this windows defender does not update automatically and I had to create a task for updating in the task scheduler, which I did but it does not work anymore since I re-installed windows.
What am I doing wrong?

 

Windows updates won't install!

I had the same problem when i repaired my O/S, i forgot the steps on how to fixed it, but it is in the microsoft support forum.

You have to reinstall the windows updater, then restart the updating service.

SEtting up automatic updates for windows defender on windows 8

I have found this on the internet en have set up a task for automatic definitions update for Windows Defender but a window pops up when this starts to run.
Is there a way to set this without any window popping up so that it just runs in the background?

Now I'm using
"C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MpCmdRun.exe" -SignatureUpdate -MMPC
