    Windows Update ignores my active hours settings! Updating in the middle of my workday...


    Windows has done updates during my active hours that I have set in my computer settings, why? The last update took over two hours while I was trying to run my business using the computer. I'm very frustrated that windows update is ignoring my active hours that I have set. I receive no notifications that an update is pending or allowed a choice. It updates when I restart the computer. How can I make sure this doesn't happen again! This has happened multiple times!

    Windows updates...

    Oh. Your "Registry" must have gotten screwed up FLY3R. If for some reason you couldn't download your updates I suppose you could go to the update site, and run throught the steps 'till it fails activation. Then you could go up to "Tools > Manage Add ons > then disable "Windows Genuine Advatage Validation Tool." Of course you should only use this method if you are having problems updating your legitamate copy of Windows XP. Perhaps do to a corrupted piece of software? *Smile Windows Update ignores my active hours settings! Updating in the middle of my workday... :)

    Any one know how to permanently dissable auto update in windows 10?

    Did you go into the Update options and set your active hours? You can set a 12 hour window where it won't do updates.
