Windows 10: Windows Update is causing my PC to Shutdown, in the middle of work

Hello, Win 10 Windows Update is shutting my PC down, while I am in the middle of critical work - No Notification comes up anymore for me to Select when my PC can start.Exactly which settings need to be set to get the Re-Start Notification to appear, so that I can control when a Re-Start can occur???????Regards

Windows not updating after the shutdown in middle of installing the updates

To assist you better, I suggest you to answer the below questions.

• Are you getting any error message when you check for updates?
• What happens when you try to check for updates?
• What is the make and model of the PC?

Note: Unplug all external devices connected to the system, restart the pc and login to the admin account to check if that helps.

I suggest you to follow the methods given below and check.

Method 1: I suggest you to run the Update troubleshooter and check if it helps.

• 
  Press the ‘Windows + X’ key, select
  Control panel.
  
• 
  Type troubleshooter in the search box and then press
  enter.
  
• 
  Select Troubleshooting. Click on
  view all and select Windows update.
  
• 
  Click next and follow the on-screen instructions.
  

Method 2: Put the computer into
clean boot state and check if the issue persists.
