Windows 10: Windows update is not working, I have searched and cannot find a solution, help!

I am not sure when Windows Update stopped working. I am running Windows 10, version 1909, build 18369.1556. I have tried everything to get it to work. The event logs do not show any errors. I updated all of my Dell Precision 7510 drivers, uninstalled Acronis backup, deleted a Virtual machine containing Ubuntu. Still, I am unable to get rid of this update windows error. FIXED!! Windows 7 sp1 never ends searching for updates

need KB4048970 if using Vista - that's the latest win32k.sys patch. while it's listed for Windows Server 2008 only, it should also install & work under Vista SP2 as I've tested myself on an old Vista machine.

Everything is working correctly with the current implementation and KB3172605 is already included in the current battery of 7 patches.

To turn off windows updates in windows 7 follow these steps:

Click the start button, in the search box type in 'windows updates', click on 'windows update'
in the search results list, in the left side of the windows update window click 'change settings'
then in the option bar select 'Never check for updates'.
