Windows 10: Windows Update is offering me an "update" which is an outdated version as per my searches...

I got an update named "Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. - Display - 27.20.11044.7" from Windows Update a few days ago. At first chance, I didn't put any second thought and just installed it. But after some time, I got a notification from AMD Radeon Software that it has gone incompatible with my AMD graphics driver. This didn't use to happen before and the only plausible cause, I believed, is the installation of the update mentioned.Unfortunately, the AMD Support Site mentioned in this dialog box didn't help me out. FIXED!! Windows 7 sp1 never ends searching for updates

Pros:

• No need for a script, easy to apply manually
  
• Much smaller download, seems that KB3020369 is not required, only SP1 is needed

Cons:

• Windows Update Client downloaded by the script is newer (June 2016 version is included in KB3172605 instead of March 2016)
• You will still need to download/install hundreds of updates afterwards, most of them are already included in KB3125574 and installed by the script

 

HyperSLI (Enabling SLI on non-sli motherboards)

To turn off windows updates in windows 7 follow these steps:

Click the start button, in the search box type in 'windows updates', click on 'windows update'
in the search results list, in the left side of the windows update window click 'change settings'
then in the option bar select 'Never check for updates'.

Ok I did another reboot, disabled windows update service, did step 3 again, this time it installed an update, enabled windows update service and did a reboot and voila!! *Peace eace:
