    Recently I had to completely wipe my pc and reinstall the system image along with a copy of windows that came with it. I of course had to do a bunch of driver updates and such, having to restart plenty of times. However once I opened windows settings and went to the updates section, there was one update I needed that was taking extremely long. Up until about 70%, it was going about 1% every several minutes which was fine, and after that it went about three times as slow but I kept going with it. By the end, I needed to restart my computer and apply the update. I clicked the power button, then

    Definitely not an issue with the Windows Servers as I just re-installed yesterday and got all my updates.

    It works, but I still need to fix it so that way I dont have to plug computers directly to the modem to get windows update to work. It was also blocking me from installing directx.

    If your wireless router has a built in firewall maybe it's somehow set to block the ports that Windows updates use?

    I'd also suggest if it works with it being directly connected then you could try resetting your router to see if this fixes the issue.

    That's my 2 cents anyways. *Smile Windows Update Issues :)
