Windows 10: Windows Update KB5011487 Failing with 0x800f0922 Error After Restoring Win 10 Pro 64

I'm a pretty technically savvy 30-year IT professional and have recovered Windows 10 several times in the past. I've never had so many issues. My problems started when my 18-month-old PCIe 4.0 NVMe boot drive failed last week. It was confirmed to be a failure of the NVMe SSD because my motherboard would not detect it in either NVMe slot but did detect a 2nd NVMe SSD in both slots. I decided to repurpose the 2nd NVMe SSD as the boot drive but couldn't get a clean restore of the boot partition. I tried every idea I could find to fix the BCD, but still couldn't get a clean restore. Finally got

Windows Update Error 0x800f0922

I have a Dell 7710 with Win 10 Pro 1909 18363.657.

for the last few weeks the cumulative updates fail with the error 0x800f0922. Latest one was KB4541335.

Looking at the history KB440673 Failed on 3/12 (2) and KB4541335 Failed on 3/29.

I ran CHKDSK and sfc /scannow and found no errors.

I searched the web and cannot find a solution.

Any ideas?

Windows refuses to update - Error 0x800f0922


Windows won't update, i ran sfc as an Admin in CMD and no issues.

• Adobe is activated on Edge but still doesn't work, could this be related?
