Windows 10: Windows update keeps installing older Intel Arc graphics drivers

Hi, every time a new Intel ARC driver is released, I get an update from Intel Driver Assistant and I install it.As soon as I restart my laptop, Windows update then installs a much older version, which is the version that was last released by my laptop maker, Asus.If I then manually reinstall the newer driver again, either from intel driver support or from the Intel website, Windows just reinstalls this older driver again.I have tried to manually uninstall the older driver, by ticking remove the software in device manager, and also deleted the folder that was in my 'drivers' folder that contain

Windows 10 - 17134.191 Update insists installing and older Intel Graphics driver over the manually installed newest version available. Only started doing this recently. How do I stop this from happening?

I'm using the Intel Arc Graphic Display driver from the Intel website. The recent version is 31.0.101.5990. Windows Update constantly installs an outdated version of the driver from July 2023 with the version number 31.0.101.4575 and uninstalls the recent driver.

Windows Update should detect that there is a more recent driver already installed and should stop to install this update. How can I prevent Windows Update to install the outdated graphics driver?

I think I found a solution:

1. Install the Intel Graphics Driver downloaded from the Intel website

2. Let Windows Update install the outdated graphics driver

3. Open the Windows Device Manager, open properties of the graphic card, select Update Driver, Choose driver from list. There should appear the recent Intel driver. Select it.

Windows Update doesn't try to install the outdated driver so far.
