Windows 10: Windows update makes everything slow.

After finally agreeing to your 200th time new version reminder, I decided to update windows. I hated it, my laptop was running extremely slow. I went back to previous version which made my ASUS go to black screen unable to get out of a cycle of blackscreen and loading balls. So I went to the store, lost my laptop for 3 weeks, but they "fixed" it. Now I have my laptop back again, still same version, still slow as a thick turd going through a straw. I'm afraid to go back again to the previous version for obvious reasons, but this isnt working. My laptop wasnt at all means cheap, so this really sucks, what do I do?

• What is the make and model of your device?
• When exactly does the system slow performance issue persists?
• Does the issue confined while performing any specific task on Windows 10?
• Have you installed all the pending Windows Updates and driver updates after upgrading to Windows 10?

I suggest you to try the below troubleshooting steps and check it if helps.

Step 1: Run the System maintenance troubleshooter.

System Maintenance troubleshooter finds and clean up unused files and shortcuts and performs maintenance tasks.

• Press Windows key and type Troubleshooting.
• Select Troubleshooting and hit Enter.
• Click on View all in the left pane of the window.
• Select System Maintenance.
• Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

Step 2: I suggest you to install all the pending updates after upgrade to Windows 10.

Steps:

• Connect to the internet.
• Press Windows key and type
  updates.
• Click on Check for updates.
• Under Windows Updates, click on
  Check for updates.
• Try to install the updates being shown.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
