Windows 10: Windows update: my laptop is taking long to restart

I have windows 10 in my laptop. I have downloaded the recent updates and when I click install and restart option ..my laptop is taking long to restart. It is not opening.. is it normal?

I suggest you to restart your computer because it never takes long time. After your computer restarts check which version of Windows does it has. Based on which version of Windows you have, we will provide you further troubleshooting steps.

Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Windows Updates take too long to install and restart

Today, June 14, I ran the usual Windows Updates. The Updates took more than 20 minutes to complete incl. the restart. I think the length of this process is simply too long. In the restart the application of the updates is especially slow, One should assume
that with a progressive operating system as Windows 10 the process should not take a very long time. It is just the opposite. I observe that these times to updates take more and more time. I guess that MS has a lot of "first class" employees, who understand
their business. Exactly this does not seem to be the case. With a progressive operating system like Windows 10, the time it takes to update it should be shortened.

And this should be priority 1.

To avoid accusations. My Laptop is half a year old with an Intel I 5 CPU, fas Internet connection (60Mbps), no crapware installed, and at installation time no programs running except for the start-ups.
