Windows 10: Windows update not downloading drivers for printers

Reading this https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...source=twitter there is a troubleshooter which I have downloaded and run. According to that there are drivers for my HP 710C and D1460 printers waiting at windows update but it is not downloading and installing them.

I have enabled automatic driver installation and wu is set to automatic, yet no drivers. Anyone got any ideas?

Printer Installed with USB but will not print anything including test page

I downloaded Windows 10 again to see if it would fix my problems. It took care of some problems but not the printer problem.

Here's what I found out using the information you sent.

When I go into device manager I see an item under "other devices" which is an HP printer. When I right click on it it has no driver. When I try to update the driver I go to windows driver download for the updated drivers it says I have the updated drivers.
However, there isn't one included for this. I looked at the instructions to download one from a file on my computer and don't see where to do this. Is this driver something that should be included in the windows 10 operating system provided drivers for my
printer? Or is it connected to something else I need to download?

I know this other device is connected to this particular printer as when I disable it the printer shows it not connected in devices and printers.

Any ideas?

This printer is on the list of windows 10 compatible printers and it says the drivers are included in windows.

 

Windows Update tries to install non-existant printer driver and repeatably fails

Running Windows 10 (upgraded from Windows 7)

Windows Update wants to install:

Samsung – printers samsung universal printer driver 3

Windows Update fails every time it tries to install this software. No error message is displayed as to the cause of the failure. Windows Update just wants you to Retry to download and install the update. Feels like there is a bug in Windows Update.

I checked the Samsung.com web site. There is NO version 3 of the Samsung universal printer driver.

Current installed printer driver is the Samsung Universal Printer driver version 2.

Printer is a Samsung ml-2510 monochrome laser printer.

Does anyone know how to stop Windows Update from trying this non-existant printer driver

 

Unfortunately the 710 is no longer supported by HP and the D1460 has no drivers listed for 10.
