Windows 10: Windows Update not working since installing the November build to Wind

Can someone out there help me with this very annoying problem please?
Today i went to Settings>Security & Update>Check for Updates Now and i keep getting the same message that reads like this: We couldn't connect to the update service. We'll try again later, or you can check now. If it still doesn't work, make sure that you're connected to the internet.
What the hell does that mean? I am most definately connected to the internet and i use fibre broadband.
In Settings i have set my updates to be downloaded automatically and because i am a Windows Insider i have set the speed at which i receive any updates from Slow to Fast.
How can i get the Windows Update working again?
Oh, i have downloaded the Windows Update Repair Tool and run it ok and according to this tool there is nothing wrong with the Windows Update at all! Any idease? Anyone else having the same problem?

Cannot install updates

Am running Windows 10 version 1607 build 14393.321. Updates will not install since November but it does not give me an error number. How di I find out the reason they are not installing?

 

Solved : Upgrade fails with NX bit not supported error on CPU with NX, PAE and SSE2 support as verified by MS coreinfo tool.

Yes you can re-enable NX once Windows 10 is installed. The issue is with the upgrade checks since it was reported that a clean install would work but an upgrade wouldn't.

All of my systems are upgraded but I'm curious if downloading media for the new November build update will install properly on the systems that failed with the original release.

 

Well. I tried something else since posting. I ran an app that i have on my Desktop and that is Driver Update and sure as hell there was an outdated driver that needewd sorting out. Sorted that out and my Windows Update is now working ok. Thank goodness.

 

same issue here. Noticed no new updates since november and is giving me the error "We couldn't connect to the update service. We'll try again later, or you can check now. If it still doesn't work, make sure you're connected to the Internet." I have tried from 4 different connections including home, work, and tethered to my phone with no luck.

 

After trying all kinds of things including DriverUpdate (seems like a good program) I went to

Windows Update > Advanced options > Choose how updates are delivered > When this is turned on, your PC may also send parts…

and turned it OFF. Suddenly the system started downloading updates!

Amazing. Only wasted a few hours.

UPDATE: After a download of updates.... it stopped working. Will update further if it comes back to life.

 

I know this is a one-year old thread, but did anything work for you? I'm having the same problem and I've no idea how to get rid of it.

 

I was having the same problem and what fixed it for me was after a fresh install of 10 i still had to go to the manufacturers website and download the latest drivers for my machine. After a quick reboot the updates started rolling in.

So far this has worked on a Lenovo T450 and a Lenovo Thinkstation P300
