Windows 10: Windows update October 2024 broke my pc

Windows is a joke if they aren't checking that they updates aren't helpful.For starters my pc was running great until the recent update and my pc this morning is now messed up no wifi when I logged into the pc in the morning ok that has happened before my pc is a desktop on wifi no enternet. But I noticed it slow won't open Windows settings nor can I look at task manager it's just really slow and the viewport crashes. I also before the update my pc would load in seconds now it's taking 5 mins or longer on a black screen. Don't know what to do but I think I'm leaving the windows pc environment

Method 1: Try updating the Video card drivers and check if it helps.



Follow the steps to update the Video card driver:

• Press Windows Key + X key and click Device Manager.
• Expand ‘Display Adapters’.
• Right-click on the Video card listed and click on ‘Update Driver Software’.

Method 2: Try installing the game in Compatibility mode and check.



Follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode:

• Right click the Game setup file and select Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab.
• Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box.
• Tap or click the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click OK.
• Try installing the Game and check.

Windows 10 update on October 10 2018 broke my sound card

Hello, the October 10 2018 update broke my Realtek sound driver.

I know this is the case because I performed a system restore to right before the update and the driver worked.

Once I reinstalled the update it broke again.

The volume icon shows a red X and the troubleshooter provides no solution.

Is Microsoft working on a fix for this?

 

Update of October 1 broke my my Windows 10 Installaion

When the October 1 update came through on the evening of October the 1, my Windows 10 broke. Microsoft edge no longer works and the start screen no longer works.

I can boot the machine and I can get to programs that I have shortcuts on the desktop for. But all other apps are not accessible since the start menu will not work. Additionally, the Edge icon is disappeared.

Additionally the sound on my computer broke as well.

This is a serious problem. How can I get this fixed? Can someone please advise.

I tried system restore to try and restore to before the update. While the restore completed, the same problems still exist (except for the sound which returned).

Is there anyway to recover this or am I screwed?
