Windows 10: Windows Update = programs will no longer open

My computer recently got the "2020-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1909 for x64-based Systems KB4560960."


I have had to uninstall this update twice because, after the update, certain programs on my computer no longer function. The ones I've found thus far are:

Corel PaintShop Pro X9

NETGEAR Genie


If I try open these programs, nothing happens, they don't even appear in Task Manager as "not responding."


Also: I hit my print button from any application it closes down any windows I had open and won't print.


Is there a solution to these problems? I'm getting tired of uninstalling this update.

Microsoft signals end of Paint program

Microsoft has confirmed that it will continue to offer its graphics program Paint.

In a recent update, it had listed Paint as a feature that would be either removed or no longer developed.

Paint, renowned for its simplicity, has been part of the Windows operating system since its launch in 1985.

Microsoft suggested it would not remain on Windows 10 by default but did say it would be available for free on the Windows Store.

Can no longer update Windows XP?

This is due to the root certificates having expired. You need to open Control Panel, then open Add/Remove Programs, and then click Add/Remove Windows Components; the option to update root certificates should be right at the bottom. Unfortunately, Microsoft no longer provides updates for root certificates, so you need to install service pack 3 and IE8, then go to http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate and hope it works. It should download the latest version of the root certificates update, which while still outdated, it better than nothing. I have to deal with this all the time and it's a pain in the ass.

 

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.
