Windows 10: Windows Update Reboot Notifications?

For Windows 10 Enterprise 1909 or 2004, is there any GPO that will support these requirements?

1. Automatically download and install updates.
2. Display notification prompting user to manually reboot (or schedule time to reboot automatically) that is not in any way subtle or hidden.
3. Do not automatically reboot outside Active Hours with user logged in before reaching the installation deadline.
4. Display reboot notification to the user every day until the date and time an installation deadline is reached.

Issues I have seen in the past are systems rebooting outside office hours with no clear warning to the user. An icon in the Action Center is not a real notification. We also see systems rebooting at the installation deadline with no warning to the user even though the reboot was pending for several days.

When a server admin logs into a Windows server with pending updates, before you can even access the desktop, you must click a banner to acknowledge the system needs updates. Windows 10 needs a setting you can configure like that.

Windows Update suddenly hangs?

Windows Update is suddenly hanging for some reason... I went and downloaded and installed the first bunch of updates, restarted when asked, and now when I go back to windows update I just get the window with a white box forever. Reboot and it still does it. This happens to be on my main machine, running windows 7.

I've also noticed when I reboot it says configuring windows update, step 3 of 3, 47%. Maybe it somehow skipped something and is screwed forever?

 

FIXED!! Windows 7 sp1 never ends searching for updates

Ok I did another reboot, disabled windows update service, did step 3 again, this time it installed an update, enabled windows update service and did a reboot and voila!! *Peace eace:

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
