Windows update runs 100% of time at 99% CPU

5 minutes after I successfully complete a manual Windows update run, and after setting the 30-day pause option to "on", Windows Update (wauserv) re-starts spontaneously and runs at 99% of CPU literally forever. It's been like this since I installed Windows 10 last April and I can only slightly control it by disabling Windows Update in Services - but of course that only works for a few hours until it turn itself on again. Windows Update is the worst parasitic programme I have ever encountered in 40 years. It is a curse inflicted on us by Microsoft and it is all but killing my PC and driving me completely nuts. Since April despite numerous attempts, downloads, re-installs, repairs and web searches I have been unable to effect any solution.

I don't really expect a solution. I have despaired of a solution at this stage. I'm just recording the experience.

Shame on Microsoft for this vandalism.

    Thank you for reading this.

    LM.

    :)

High CPU Usage 99-100% at all times

Hello everyone, I recently started noticing my computer's cpu usage has been off the charts. I am currently unaware of what is causing it. I have run full system scans with my antivirus (Bitdefender 2017) and have run checks from windows. As i look at the usage in task manager, it seems that random programs that are open will sky rocket quite frequently . At times i see even some windows processes jump. I'm not really sure why this is happeneing. I haven't downloaded anything in quite some time (except games from steam) and this has only started recently. I have also recently upgraded my cpu from an i5 6600 to the i7 6700k (mostly in hopes that it could handle the situation better).

All in all, i am at a loss here. I have looked at multiple forums, read multiple fixes and tried them such as registry edits, deleting programs, running checks on drivers, deleting ghost drivers, making sure everything i have installed is up to date. Below are some screenshots of my task manager and what kind of processes and programs are running at the time, i've never had any issues with this before so i am unsure as to what has caused any of this. And i have noticed that my computer seems a little sluggish at times even with only a tab or two open on chrome with nothing else open. Could you guys please help me out here?
