Windows 10: Windows Update screen in settings does not load and Windows Update Troubleshooter stuck on...

Hello!I am having a major issue with my computer. At first, I was having an issue where when I attempted to open the Minecraft Launcher, it would open the Microsoft Store and the store would be glitchy, flashing in and out and not loading properly. Through a guide from someone having similar issues, I uninstalled the Minecraft Launcher to no resolve. I then got an alert to update Java, so I did. This resolved the glitchy behavior that I was experiencing with the Microsoft Store. So now I am trying to reinstall the Minecraft Launcher, but it refuses to install. Mu assumption is that there is a

Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

 

Windows updates causing lockup

Hi guys.

No, I cant even get the update screen. I cant find a answer on the internet.

Start -> all programs --> windows update --> check for updates.

10 seconds later, complete system lock up requiring a hard reboot. If I try to install a printer that needs to check windows update, same thing.

I even tried the windows update troubleshooter Windows Update: FAQ - Microsoft Support

Then that program 'checks for solutions online', and then hard lock again. VERY frustrating. What would be causing this?

 

Windows 8 failure configuring updates and reverting

I agree 8 is awful! It's not for me though... I replaced a broken screen in a Win 8 laptop that was given to me and I am going to give it for free to someone that can't afford one so they can do homework at home. Yes I took it from 8 to 8.1 back on 10/09/2014. This is what I posted there...

1. Step 1 should read to disable AUTOMATIC updates, not disable manual updates.

2. KB2871398 should really read KB2871389

I would like to say that KB2917499 may also be needed as it was in my case. I also had to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter after installing those 2 updates. After these steps I was able to begin my 8.1 download from the Microsoft store. I don't know if it made a difference or not, but I also went into the Bios and disabled "Secure Boot."
