Windows 10: windows update services not working. Disk Cleanup too hangs at Language Resources files...

Dear Sir, Greetings of the day Problem 1I have new windows 10 pro installed, last few days I am unable to update windows from windows update it says try to open the settings later.Even when I went in the services and tried to enable the windows update it says error 1058 the sercice cannot be started either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.Problem 2. Since last week when ever I am running disk cleanup, it hangs on languages resources folder and later on windows update cleanup.Problem 3. Files in disk cleanup

Rest assured, it is totally safe to delete everything suggested by the Disk Cleanup Process, please tun the Disk Cleanup twice as explained below, please remember to untick your Downloads folder if you actually store files in that folder . . .

Open File Explorer

Click on your hard drive

On the Manage Tab, click Cleanup

Let Disk Cleanup do its initial scan

Select Everything in the list and choose Delete

Start Disk Cleanup again

Let Disk Cleanup do its initial scan

This time in the resulting dialog, click 'Cleanup System Files'

Let Disk Cleanup run another scan

Select Everything in the list and choose Delete

 

Unable to install applications, Disk Management hangs connecting to Virtual Disk Service, shutdown hangs

So I have a mess of problems, although I suspect they all stem from one thing. The issues I'm facing with Windows 10 Pro 20H2 are:

1. Application installers hang forever
   
2. Going to Disk Management hangs connecting to the Virtual Disk Service
   
3. When I try to restart my computer, it just hangs with the rotating dots saying restarting
   
4. Whenever I try to do some things with disks, like writing an image file to a USB drive, it hangs
   
5. Trying to select a backup drive for a Windows 7 style backup, it hangs
   

So it seems tied into a problem with disk drives and likely the Virtual Disk Service and/or the Volume Shadow Copy Service. I've tried the various suggestions related to startup settings for VDS and VSCS, they both end up in a running state.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
