  1. Windows Update - Several Problems - Windows 10

Okay here is a different way of asking for the same support answer for a possible problem with Windows Updates.

    Here it goes.

In Windows Update - View Update History - At the bottom, it reads: Other Updates (4) - with that > symbol you can tap to open the list of 4 "other updates". There reads a list of 4 updates (which is really only 3 because here is why). The last update at the top (of other updates) is:

Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - August 2019 (KB890830) - Underneath that it reads: Successfully installed on ‎08/‎13/‎19. However, right above those two lines of text, it reads: Failed to install on ‎08/‎19/‎19 - 0x8024001e. Then on top of that, it reads Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - August 2019 (KB890830). BOTH ARE THE SAME UPDATE! What confuses me is#1: If an Update is Successfully Installed then why doesn't the PC or Windows REMOVE the 2 lines of text reading "Failed to install"? Furthermore #2: Why try to install an update if it was first Successfully installed?

THEN 2ND POSSIBLE PROBLEM WITH WINDOWS UPDATES:

History of Driver Updates (19) - List reading 19 updates (which I think is really just 18 updates for the same reason above) In the middle of that list reads this update: Failed to install on ‎07/‎04/‎19 -0x8024000b That is for Intel Corporation - Display - 2/7/2019 12: 00:00 AM - 25.20.100.6576. Then Above those 2 lines, it reads Successfully installed on ‎07/‎10/‎19. Then the update above that line is of course:

Intel Corporation - Display - 2/7/2019 12: 00:00 AM - 25.20.100.6576. So Two different updates, same questions. Why aren't the "Failed updates" removed from the list? Question #2 from the first "other update"? Notice the "other update" was first successfully installed before for some reason my PC tried to install it again before that install failed. Notice (not sure if this matters) but the Driver Update Failed on 07/04/2019 before it was Successful on 07/10/2019 & the "Other Update" was Successful on 08/13/2019 then Failed on 08/19/2019 6 days later.

Good luck to me and you all,

    Barry

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:
    • Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
    • Try different keyboard or mouse.
    • Restart computer, repeatedly.
    • Google for related issues.
    • Update Bios, because why not.
    • Create boot media and revert to windows 7.
The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.
