Windows 10: Windows Update Troubleshooter Reports Problem

Windows Update Troubleshooter finds a problem. I use it's advanced option. It says 'check for Windows update issues" and displays a yellow triangle resting on the bottom. When I press view detailed information, it says "issues found," "check for Windows Update issues" and displays the yellow triangle. Below it says "resolve Windows Update issues" and "completed." Nonetheless, I run into the same issues. Farther below it says "potential issues that were checked" and lists 'some security settings are missing or have changed", "check for missing or corrupt files" and "service registration is missing or corrupt" as "issues not present." Under "detection details" it lists "IsPostback_RC_PendingUpdates," "IsPostback: False," "WaaSMedicService," "issue found by:EnableUUPScanPlugin." "IsPostback_RC_PendingUpdates." "IsPostback: True." "Service Status." "Problem with BITS service : The requested service has already been started. System.Management.Automation.RemoteException More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 2182. SystemManagement.Automation. RemoteException." "Service Status Problem with BITS Service : The requested service has already been started. System.Mamagement.Automation.RemoteException More help is available NET HELPMSG 2182 System.Management.Automation.RemoteException." "Publisher details" follow. They suggest using the BITS, Windows Network Diagnostics and The Windows Update versions 9.2 and 9.3 Troubleshooters. There is also an optional update for my Canon Printer that downloads but never installs. It is "Canon Printer 8/24/2018 12:00 AM - 2.90.2 10".

The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

If that setting is already enabled, then I suggest as the next troubleshooting step might be Mozilla Safe Mode (not to be confused with Windows Safe Mode)):
