With Microsoft updates moving from View installed updates in Control Panel to Settings > Windows Update > Update History. Has anyone been able to figure out how to elevate permissions (Run as Administrator) to have the ability to uninstall a Windows Patch while a standard non-admin user is logged into the computer?

Running Command prompt as administrator and running Start MS-Settings:System and navigating to the Windows Update > Update history > Uninstall updates still does not allow for the ability to remove a patch.

Uninstalling the patch through command line does work, however, I wanted to see if there was a way to perform the function through the GUI mode.

 

Who has seen this vista update error

When you go to Windows vista update and it tell you to update a driver that you have already updated. Then it says failed to update and gives you the error code that tell you that you already have a never version than that. WTF? Why in the world would it be trying to updated something with an older driver. Well the only way to get it out of your windows update list is to go uninstall what ever that driver is then run the update and install it. Then run the newer drivers again.

Well I still can't get the Nivida Network Bridge to disappear out of the list. I uninstall the one in device manager and go to the update and before it's even done with that. Vista is automatically installing a newer version than is in the Vista update list.......

 

Uninstall an Update

When I go into uninstall updates to uninstall update KB4343909 it is not listed as an update in the uninstall area. Also, the updates that are listed in the uninstall option are shown as Microsoft Windows 7, but all my updates show as updates to Windows
10??????? I 'm running Windows 10 so this is very confusing to me. Why can I not see the update that I want to uninstall even though it is listed in the update history.????????
