Windows 10: Windows update will not load

After reading about windows updates, I went in to check windows update. When I select WU all I see is some grey/blue dots going across the top of the screen. I tried the troubleshooter and windows reset for the update, but no changes. I contacted the windows community but instruction for submittine some logs was incorrect.One is attached.

I suggest you to login to safe mode with Networking and check if the issue persist.

Perform clean boot

Check if the issue persists, in safe mode.

Refer the link below to login to Safe mode.

If the issue does not persist in safe mode, then perform a clean boot to from safe mode to check if any third party application is causing the issue, as clean boot helps in eliminating software conflicts.

Note: Once you are done with the troubleshooting, perform the steps in “How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot “to reset computer as usual.

windows update will not load

I have numerous problems. 1 windows update will not load.

2 recovery will not open

3 file explorer will not work, it crashes

4 Any Microsoft site take ages to load



sometimes I get message saying update have been installed and things work for a couple of days. Then it goes back to the problems mentioned above. I have tried typing :

REGSVR32 WUPS2.DLL /S

REGSVR32 WUPS.DLL /S

REGSVR32 WUAUENG.DLL /S

REGSVR32 WUAPI.DLL /S

REGSVR32 WUCLTUX.DLL /S

REGSVR32 WUWEBV.DLL /S

REGSVR32 JSCRIPT.DLL /S

REGSVR32 MSXML3.DLL /S

in command prompt as suggested in another thread and it didn't work.

Any help with this would be great. Thanks

 

Hi, try the following making sure each stage is clear or fixed before proceeding:

From an admin command prompt
[Windows key + X, click command prompt (admin)]
chkdsk C: /F
Your PC will need to restart.
Make sure the result is clear or fixed- else do not proceed.
Post back the result, which you can get after a restart as follows:

From an admin command prompt run
sfc /scannow

Download and install Tweaking.com's free cautious repair tool
Follow the steps as appropriate and select only the Windows update repair.

 

Tweaking com's repair tool worked. I had gotten it 2 days ago.Thanx

 

Great.. it's worth doing the other two things if you haven't. Quite a few systems function well but still fail on these.
