Windows 10: Windows Update will not uninstall!

Every time I try to UNinstall the windows update: Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB4041676) 12/10/2017


It starts to uninstall and than stops and gives me this error message: An error has occurred. Not all of the updates were successfully uninstalled.


I am trying to uninstall this update completely because it has caused me all sorts of problems on my laptop with windows
10 and has caused me nightmare after nightmare, headache after headache.

I have tried EVERYTHING but can't get it to uninstall. *Sad

Has any one else had the same problem? How can I successfully uninstall this wretched update right off my laptop please?

Windows 10 <30 days will not uninstall

If the roll back does not complete there is obviously something amiss in the OS.

Please run a system file check (SFC) & DISM if you are on win 8 or higher

I am given the option to revert back to 8.1, when I click the button, it starts the process, restarts the laptop, but ends up right back to windows 10.

It isn't working.

What should I do now?

Hi, do you have an appropriate system restore point you can use?

If you have a recent disk image (we continually urge people to use disk imaging routinely so they can very often rescue themselves from difficulty quickly and without technical help - e.g. Macrium Reflect (free) ) you can restore that.

Note too that you will have to 'hide' it (Tutorial, Tutorial section - search for 'hide') so it isn't reapplied.
